Longview - Learning Center

This guide explores all the resources available to MCC students through the Longview Learning Center.

Abigail

Hi! My name is Abigail Lawatsch (Abby for short) and I work as a writing tutor at MCC Longview. I am a passionate reader, adore the subject of history, and spend a lot of my free time in ballet classes. I have a big family and love to spend time with them and the many pets we have on our hobby farm. I am excited to meet and work with you soon!

Daniel

Twenty years ago, I dropped out of community college with a 1.5 GPA. In 2020, I decided that I would finish what I started by making steps to graduate. College and the Learning Center became a place for me to reclaim the ground of my educational success. Recently, I was inducted into the National Honors Society. I was selected by the college to be a student representative for MCC's strategic planning committee and hired as an English tutor. I want to encourage every student in that there is hope; pursue your goals, stay the course, and never give up. I enjoy getting to know people, meaningful conversations, and I love to write short stories. I have made it my lifelong goal and mission to be kind to others and a good listener.  A fun fact: I grew up dancing for most of my life and can be sighted at the local grocery aisle or department store subtly busting out a few dance moves as the music plays overhead.

Hannah

Hi, I'm Hannah. I enjoy hiking in the woods, touring museums, and playing piano. Above these, I really like learning and helping others succeed in their learning. I get the privilege of doing this at MCC Longview by tutoring English at the Learning Center. I can't wait to meet and work with you!
