IMPORTANT: Always check citations grabbed from databases to make sure they're in the proper format!
Literature cited- All references cited in the text are listed in the standard format of the journal (usually: author(s), year, title, journal, volume #: page #'s). Please note that scientists do not use a standard format for references (i.e. MLA, APA, etc…) but the format is specified by the specific journal in which the study is to be published. For this paper, use the citation format below, which is also demonstrated in the background information given at the end of this handout.
Cite journal articles this way:
First, number them in order that they are cited in the text. The first citation in your text will appear as (1) in the text, the second in-text citation as (2) and so on.
Then, in your works cited or references page, list the references in the order they were cited in the text. Here is the format:
1) Author A.B., C.D. Author, E.F. Author: Title. Journal Title, Vol. #, No. #, page # - page #, year.
