“Research Starts with a Thesis Statement” by Emily A. Wierszewski (It gives a look at the thesis-first method of research and how there are more effective options to help students build research and research questions rather than collecting information that matches a thesis they’ve already created)
“Shitty First Drafts” by Anne Lamott (I like to use this one at the beginning of the semester to help encourage students that writing is all about process and that it’s okay to start with a really rough first draft)
