In order to download books to your iPhone or iPad, you will need to download and install an app called "Blue Fire Reader." There is a Blue Fire Reader app for Mac and Android, so make sure you download and install the correct one. Depending on your version of iOS, this app may be called Cloudshelf SDK. If that is the case, these instructions are still the same. You will also need to create an account with EBSCOhost, our eBook provider. This is also free and easy to do.
Use your device's browser to navigate to the MCCKC website. In the upper left corner, select the menu icon. Scroll down to select "Library." Once the Library page appears, select "Catalog."
Choose the catalog you wish to search. Then enter the search term you would like to find information on. Depending on your search terms, you will be given a list of MCC resources on that topic. Some of these resources will be eBooks.
Once you have found the eBook that you wish to download, you will need to select the cluster that you use to access online materials. Select the "MCC Online Access" link. If you decide that the book is one that you want, click on the "Download (Offline)" button. You will be prompted to enter your EBSCOhost user I.D. If you do not have an EBSCOhost user I.D., you can select "Create a New Account" and create one quickly and easily.
Once you have logged in, you have the option of downloading the book. Once you have downloaded it, you are given the option of going to your "Checkouts Folder" where you will find the book that you checked out. Select the book that you wish to read.
Once you have selected your book, you will be prompted to open the book in the "Blue Fire Reader." Select that and the book will open. Use the controls at the bottom of the page to maneuver through the book. You can bookmark and make notes in the eBook content.
