This pathway prepares you to teach in early childhood, elementary and secondary school settings. Choose from options depending on the age group and subjects you wish to teach. Learn to apply your skills and personality to becoming an effective, inspiring educator.

Education Pathway: Degrees & Certificates

Associate of Arts in Teaching (A.A.T.) one of MCC's transfer degrees, lays the foundation needed for teacher certification and is fully transferable to teacher education programs at colleges and universities across the state. Students who complete the A.A.T. will be required to meet all entrance requirements of the educator preparation program at the institution they transfer to, including grade point average and/or testing requirements. Students will be exposed to the full spectrum of primary education and can specialize in teaching:

  • Early Childhood
  • Elementary Education
  • Middle School Education
  • Music, Art, Physical Education, Foreign Language or Family and Consumer Science Education
  • Secondary/High School Education
  • Special Education

Associate of Applied Science Degrees (A.A.S.) are designed to provide you with the skills to enter the workforce after you graduate from MCC. We offer these associate of applied science degrees in this academic & career pathway:

Certificates are an accessible, affordable and fast route to enter the workforce in less time than it takes to complete a degree.
