K-12 Resources for Students and Teachers - Longview

This guide provides resources for K-12 teachers and students who want to learn more about the MCC-Longview library.

Using Search Engines

There are many search engines available to students to find information on the Internet. The most popular ones are Google and Bing.

We suggest that students focus their research on websites that have a domain name such as .edu, .org, or .gov. You can limit your web searches by adding these domain names in the advanced search box.

Here are some fantastic tips for doing a basic web search: GOOGLE Search Basics.

Additionally, MCC's reference librarians have created a list of Subject Guides. Librarians reviewed these guides for content, reliability and timeliness. Browse through the listed subject areas for interesting resources (both electronic and physical) that you may find useful in your research.

Pathways to Science

Pathways to Science is a project of the Institute for Broadening Participation (IBP). Pathways to Science supports pathways to the STEM fields: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. They place particular emphasis on connecting underrepresented groups with STEM programs, funding, mentoring and resources.
