Interlibrary Loan - Longview

Information for students and faculty on how to request books and articles from other libraries, as well as information on copyright.

How do I request books?

Requesting books

To get your materials as quickly as possible, check our library catalog to see if MCC-Longview owns a copy of the item you are looking for before placing a request. If MCC-Longview's copy is checked out, or if MCC-Longview does not own the title, search MOBIUS to see if there are any holdings at other area libraries.

If there are no copies available of the item you are looking for through Longview or MOBIUS, place an ILL request.

To request a book, the following information is needed:

Your name, phone number, and email address. Book title, author/editor. Click here for ILL Book Request Form. ** (Please note that there is a separate request form for articles and books.  The book request form follows the article request form).

Average turn-around time for ILL requests

ILL book requests: 3-14 days, depending on the availability of the item through local or nonlocal sources. Most items arrive within a few days via courier or U.S. mail, however, keep in mind that MCC-Longview Library has no control over when materials arrive.

Please note

Interlibrary Loan services are only provided while the semester is in session, not during breaks.

MOBIUS

MOBIUS is a consortium of 70 member libraries whose purpose is to share library materials, information, and services. The MOBIUS Union Catalog includes over 25 million items, serving over 1.5 million people from the higher education community and the state of Missouri.
