Sociologists study human behavior, especially the study of the origins, organization, institutions, and development of human society. Social, religious and governmental influences all change that behavior.
Sociologists may analyze a social institution or a part of it and may study class or social status, social movements, criminal deviance and even revolution.
It is a broad science, covering many different disciplines. As a result, our courses cover criminology, sex roles, family violence, Native American and African American culture, anthropology and more.
Our sociology program is built around the Associate in Arts (AA) degree. This degree gives you a solid background in general education courses that can transfer to a four-year institution. It also allows 17 hours of elective courses that let you home in on your specific sociology interests.
