Anyone ages 12 – 26 living in the United States can get a San Diego Public Library Books Unbanned card. With the card, the library’s online collection of banned or restricted eBooks and Audiobooks are available for FREE, no matter where you live in the U.S. Books Unbanned cardholders can check out up to three books at a time and put up to three books on hold from a collection of the most frequently banned or challenged books according to the American Library Association.

DPLA has launched The Banned Book Club to ensure that all readers have access to the books they want to read. The Banned Book Club makes e-book versions of banned books available to readers in locations across the United States where titles have been banned via the free Palace e-reader app. The app and club are personalized so that the books available to you are the ones banned in your geographic area.

Project Gutenberg is an online library of free eBooks. Project Gutenberg was the first provider of free electronic books and was founded in 1971 by Michael Hart the inventor of the ebook. Project Guttenberg doesn't have everything but is a great resource for many books; banned or not.
